Allen Tansil brings a wealth of senior executive experience to the firm. He has a proven track record for hiring and developing high performing leadership teams. Allen understands business and the impact that talented people can have on an organization. This allows him to partner with senior executive clients as a strategic consultant to identify organizational leadership gaps, define key job requirements and develop search strategies that deliver high value candidates that fit.
As a Partner of the firm, Allen directs strategy and operations. In his role as a search consultant he specializes in recruiting senior executives in Manufacturing, Distribution, Telecom and Business Services.
Allen began his career with Georgia-Pacific Corp’s building products distribution division. During his 13-year tenure with Georgia-Pacific Corp., he held positions of increasing responsibility, leading finally to National Sales and Marketing Manager. As Executive Vice President of Atlanta-based Ivan Allen Company, he lead the office products division to achieve record sales. Following the sale of that division, He joined S.P. Richards Company, a $1.5 billion office products wholesale distributor and division of Genuine Parts Company. As Senior Vice President he led a strategic reorganization of the national sales department that resulted in a 20 percent sales increase.
Before joining Handler & Associates Mr. Tansil was a partner at Executrack, Inc., an Atlanta based consulting company, where he developed new human capital services for clients and led the company’s expansion into Florida.
Allen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee where he also played football for the Volunteers on their National Championship team.
Today Allen is an Elder of Trinity Presbyterian Church and “volunteers” as the Head of the Membership committee. He is an avid golfer, and enjoys hiking and traveling. He and his wife Jo Ellen have raised 4 children.
