Laura Lloyd


Laura Lloyd leads client engagements including executive search strategy development, candidate identification and qualification, interviews and negotiations.  Laura leverages her career experience in both the private and non-profit sectors to serve her clients by finding great leaders for great companies.

Laura has senior management expertise focused on talent leadership, funding, finance, and growth strategies.  Prior to joining Handler & Associates, she spent over a decade as a co-founder of a K-12 college preparatory, independent school for 800 students in North Atlanta.  As Chief Advancement Officer, she led the non-profit giving plan raising over $55 million for major capital and educational programs working closely with key philanthropists, private foundations and corporate executives. She designed organizational plans and recruited key staff needed to address the rapid growth.

Previously, she enjoyed a fifteen-year career as a partner at Speer & Associates, a management consultancy serving the financial services industry throughout the North, Central and South Americas.  She was a highly respected speaker on business trends for television and live events.  While at Speer, she led strategic planning engagements to assist companies with the acceleration of profitability and growth opportunities for executive level leadership.  She created organizational structures, change management plans, and led efforts to recruit senior talent for her clients worldwide.  Laura began her career with Bank of America, formerly Bank South, where she completed the Executive Management Training Program and advanced to manage a $60 million loan portfolio as Vice President of National Corporate Accounts.

A fourth generation Atlantan, Laura Lloyd received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) majoring in both Finance and Accounting from The University of Georgia.  She has served on several educational Board of Trustees and is a current trustee for the Maddox Family Foundation.  She has been a strong community volunteer focused on youth wellness and education.  She also volunteers for Second Helpings and the North Fulton Community Food Bank.  She is also a DAR, Daughters of the American Revolution.

Laura is married to her college sweetheart, Peter Lloyd, who is an Australian (retired) ATP tennis professional. They have two children: Dr. Ali Lloyd, a pharmacy resident at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital and student at UNC Chapel Hill and Mr. Jack Lloyd, a business and philosophy student at the University of Georgia.

In her free time, Laura enjoys fitness activities and international travel with her family.
