Placement Made: Handler Announces Director of Maintenance and Reliability Search

ATLANTA, GA  – January 25, 2024 – We are pleased to announce Handler’s launch of an executive search for a Director of Maintenance and Reliability for our confidential client, located in the Southeast. 

Our client is a specialty chemical business that is highly respected and known for its expertise in the industry. The Director of Maintenance and Reliability is a member of our client’s Plant Leadership Team developing and leading the infrastructure and equipment group of 25+ team members. This leader will be driven by a safety-first mindset, provide pro-active maintenance and reliability planning and execution ensuring the minimization of safety risk and the provision of preventive and daily maintenance, and reliability/uptime continuous improvement for our client.  

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in the chemicals industry and/or at a specialty chemical manufacturing plant including maintenance of reactors and distillation columns. Experience will also be required to include 5+ years in mechanical integrity and reliability engineering including RCM, MTBF, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and SMED. This role requires previous leadership experience. Preferred experience will include cGMP in an FDA regulated facility and experience desired working with various metallurgies used in acidic/corrosive piping and equipment, protective metal coatings, and corrosive chemicals.
